I'd like to know more about:
"Whatever your physical therapy needs are, you can feel confident knowing you have access to a team that has specialized training and experience."--Stephanie Barnes, DPT, Head of Physical Therapy Dept. at Go Orthopedics
Having your physical therapist and doctor in the same office offers a tremendous advantage.
Our fully-equipped Physical Therapy Clinic opened in May of 2007. Not only is this addition convenient for our patients, it allows Dr. Goradia and the physical therapist to easily communicate directly and more often concerning a patient's recovery, care and progress. This benefits patients because we can oversee progress, facilitating better and speedier recovery. Our PT services are not limited to athletes but include all patients who have suffered an orthopedic injury or had surgery requiring PT services.
The addition of on-site PT services illustrates our commitment to comprehensive care
Dr. Goradia refers patients to Physical Therapy (PT) if they have joint and bone injuries that require rehabilitation or post surgical recovery plans that require implementation by a physical therapist.
Physical therapy treatment plans
are designed to suit the goals and
needs of each individual patient. The goal of therapy is to help reduce pain while improving joint mobility and strength, therefore restoring maximum function. Our PT Department is backed by a team of rehabilitation specialists including certified athletic trainers, aides and experienced assistants.
There is no one-size-fits-all PT plan at Go Orthopedics.
Dr. Goradia is a nationally-recognized sports medicine specialist who works with the PT Department head, Stephanie Barnes, to develop and supervise individualized recovery treatment plans for each patient. So that everyone understands the patient’s recovery, we also discuss treatment information with family members, coaches and/or trainers.
Cryotherapy facilitates the recovery process
Your recovery plan may include cryotherapy. Patients' need for faster recovery has led to the development of more efficient procedures for rehabilitating injuries and studies have shown that the specialized ice therapy provides pain relief, prevention and reduction of swelling from injury or surgery. It can also be used to decrease muscle spasms. Cryotherapy can be applied as ice packs, special ice coolers, ice massage and contrast bath.
